Many of us are experiencing a heat wave right now, and I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am just mourning the fact that it is too hot out to get dressed, let alone don a scarf.
Each morning, I glance sadly at my scarves, hanging in my closet, and I tell them, maybe tomorrow – today is just too humid …
What? You don’t talk to your scarves?
But then I had an idea … rather, this photo gave me an idea. I have long hair, and in the heat, I always wear my hair up. So, why not braid one of my little lovelies into my hair? And that’s just what I did – and it looks fabulous.
If you’d like to give it a try, here’s how: First, make sure you have a scarf that is more than twice as long as your hair. Then, place the center of your scarf on the top of your head. Pull the ends down tightly behind your ears. Divide your hair into three sections. Include one end of the scarf in each of the outer sections of your hair. Then, braid as you normally would, weaving the scarf ends into the braid like they were part of your hair! As long as the top of the scarf doesn’t slip, you’ve got it made. If you’ve got especially silky hair, you might need to employ a few bobby pins or discreet barrettes. (I say discreet, because you don’t want to take away from your scarf.) You can either use a hair elastic around the whole business at the end, or you can try to get fancy and tie off the scarf.
There, now don’t you look gorgeous? You might as well go show it off, preferably someplace with a/c.
